What do you consider a fair price today if you are buying 90%? What about if you are selling 90%? What's the likely market right now? Thanks.

    I have some at $7 below melt per roll and free shipping on the bst now but no takers...so I guess mine is overpriced

    We sold a half a bag to a good customer Friday at melt. (He had just bought $100,000+ in U.S. gold $5's, $10's and $20's, and had a little money left over). Anybody else would have paid about 1% over.

    We are buying at about 4-10% under, depending on quantity. There is just as much paperwork when we buy $5 face as when we buy $500 face.

    Thanks, guys. I'm going to an auction and needed to plug some numbers into my spreadsheet for 90% stuff. I don't intend to buy any 90% today, but last time, some of it was going for 10% below melt and I thought I might want to be prepared if an offer I can't refuse falls in my lap.image

    The last one of these local auctions I went to, there was a BU roll of 1945-S War Nickels that looked pretty nice, all laid out. They went for around $240, I think. It was almost tempting.

    Coinflation's website will give you a fair range and is a good tool. MJ

    selling = anywhere around $20.35 or so.

    97% seems to be the magic number around my parts.

    buying = around $21.75

    Just a report back. Several of the lots were for $25.00 or $40.00 or $50.00 face, and most of the 90% silver consistantly went for 5% or more below melt.

    I dropped out of bidding on a roll of BU 1921 Morgans at melt, and it went for just over melt. I hadn't inspected the coins, so I didn't have a feel for going higher.

    Some BU ASEs in a Dansco went for healthy premium over melt.

    There was a group of (4) somewhat interesting 1971 1000 grain Franklin Mint Christmas sterling silver bars that I thought I might sneak off with, but dang - they went for way over melt!

    I dropped out of bidding on 6 rolls of fairly nice unadulterated steelies at $5.00/roll and they sold right there.

    On a whim, I bought an XF/AU 1892 Columbian Half that seems to have a nice patina. I say "seems to" because I can't tell if it's original or AT'd. I'll post a pic when time permits.

    I also bought some Modern Proof Set dreck that would probably make you-know-who puke.image I was havin' fun and plan to look them over at some point.
