1916 Lincoln Cent Punctuated Date?

I am familiar with the 1795 Punctuated Date Half Cent. So when I saw this 1916 cent, I was quite surprised by the similarity!





I am an Ike guy and know nothing about Lincoln Cents....Is there such a Variety listed for the 1916 Cent?

Or, would this just be considered a simple die gouge or partial dropped letter?
