PCGS grade back for the 1883 Twenty Franc

I thought (and so did most here) that this coin would be a pop 1/0 Twenty Franc. It didn't even plus! image Oh well. Off it goes...into the Swiss Type Set.

Comments

  • That's a gorgeous type set my friend. I've always loved Swiss coinage; started collecting Standing Helvetias back
in the 80's but never carried the interest into a type set until recently.

From the looks of the Twenty France I certainly agree. Worth a pop out and re-submit? I think I would.

    Congratuations....
No,no- the kids and the cat are all right honey.
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

Try it again in 6 months or so.

It may come back a 66, or then again they might say it's been tooled the second time, or maybe a third attempt and they'd give it a 62.........sadly, inconsistencies abound!

Nevertheless, Highmoon has one heckuva Swiss Type set................per my fave UBS auction description, pracht exemplar, no matter what the ( 'experts' image ) say!

PCGS is extremely stingy with this type. How many 64s do they have John?

I'll second Mac's and everyone else's comments on the type set.
