Has PCGS tried this?

Anyone suggested it?

They are looking for a milk spot solution, right?

I think most collectors would object to PCGS doing any type of conservation of their coins.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

I would not consider the use of aceton as a method of "conservation".

Is that a PCGS suggestion (to us), as I read the way it is in the title, or rather, a suggestion TO PCGS, which is how I read the first post....?

I am sure that, back in the 20th annv set days of the SAEs, in 2006, it was suggested to them. HRH made a few posts stating how important it was to PCGS to find a "cure" for this and how there was a $50,000? prize if someone else could and told them.

It has quietly been let go from the forum as HRH doesn't post much anymore and the fervor about spotted eagles has diminished

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I may be mistaking, but I believe that Russ has been suggesting this for years.

I wonder if he received the $50,000 prize. image

I swish all coins around in acetone as a preemptive measure before I submit them because I don't know how they were stored or what they were exposed to. I haven't submitted any modern silver though, but it should help prevent that problem.
I think the problem was that everybody was using plastic flips, that's why we have to use mylar now.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
