Will bullets be a tangible asset?

I think bullets are overrated as a tangible asset.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Anyway, do you mean bullets

I'm guessing you meant cartridges but either way, I do not think they would be a good way to preserve wealth. Assuming of course, that you already have a sufficient supply for your own use. First, there is such a wide variety in the quality. How would you value say Wolf Military Classic vis-a-vis some recently produced Lake City SS109? Second, I doubt ammunition will ever be scarce. If that sounds unbelievable, consider that everyone I know in the so-called "gun culture" is stocked up with so ammo that it boggles the mind. The Democrats coming to power were the best thing that ever happened to the sporting arms and ammunition businesses in the US. The people who use and need ammo are flush right now. For the purpose of wealth preservation I would go with gold and for day to day barter transactions I would have some silver. I believe that food supplies like MREs will be worth their weight in gold at some point. I have bunches of the civilians ones without all the military bells and whistles. If nothing else, I can throw them at people and tell them to keep moving moving so I do not have to resort to less desirable means of dissuasion.
