By the looks of the bids it appears that someone really wanted that 1960 box. The Bids jumped from the $200 range to over $600 with the last two bids. Since there wasn't a ton of bidding action you might just want to set a BIN price and see if you can sell it outright.
Steve Hart (BBCE) was selling empty 1975 Topps Mini boxes for (I think) $25 at the National this year, and his boxes were practically mint, and tightly cello-wrapped. I came close to picking one up, but I cheaped out. They sure make for a cool addition to a collection! I'm not sure about spending over $600, but to each their own!

I have a beat up 1971 cello box that has the lid torn from the box. I haven't listed it yet but I hope to get more than I hope since it's rare.
I think the 1960 1c wax box went so high because they are ultra rare. I could be wrong but I think the 1c 1960 packs are the rarest of all penny packs.
John, you may be right. I've only seen 2 legit '60 penny packs in 7 years, and no '61 penny packs. '65 (the last penny pack) was always the super rare one until a board member found a few. They are still super scarce but at least available, at least until they disappear deep into collections.
Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's
Not as bad as those registry FOOLS that spend 4 figures on a high grade common player 1960 card that used to sell for $3 only 10 years ago, and was in the 50 Cent bin at every show 20 years ago.

Start a group order and Steve normally gives the person who starts the rip the boxes if they request them
I've developed a nice empty box collection starting the rips!
That 70 cello box is awesome! Anyone else noticed the cards after the Seaver card are the 1969 FB 1st series cards LOL. The 71 FB cello box is identical except it shows FB cards. I have a proof sheet of the 72 cello box, maybe I should fold it up and sell it
I would say based on the price of the 1960 Penny Pack wrapper on ebay currently @ $280 with several hours to go, the box price was driven by the scarcity of the 1 Cent box.
What do you guys think of the 1954 Topps Baseball Display box rare variation box on ebay right now? and are they rare in that condition? I wonder what a best offer could be? Does anyone own one like that

I watched the last 2 minutes of the auction in amazement, I could not believe it went from $200 to $600+ in the final moments.
I think I'll keep mine, but I only had its value at $150, I was certainly happy to see that...
Nice boxes these 3, huh?
wish they would have used that Tom Terrific for his base then what they used in '70

I bought a '69 empty wax box from him @ the Nat.

Also agree that empty boxes make a great display:
Current obsession, all things Topps 1969 - 1972
wanted it real bad.
For that price, it should at least have a few packs in it...
(isin't that a 1952, not 1954 box?)
