WOW, I would say so. I've bought from this seller before, very good seller in regards to the cards I have purchased, and I paid right around VCP for everything I purchased. Maybe its a consignee, ensuring he doesnt take a bath? Not sure. It's a shame about the tilt on that card, aside from that, nice card.

I've been listing a few things over the last week or so on eBay and am finding that I have had multiple listings where someone showed similar bidding activity. I don't know any of the bidders, and would hate for someone to see the activity and think I'm shilling.

There's something to be said for some of the competition in this "hobby" when someone chooses to "protect their value" by bidding up other peoples' items to adjust the VCP values on cards they own.

Just my thoughts, I guess. image

I still don't understand why people bid so early, especially on such a high dollar card. Sit back and wait for the last 10-12 seconds and snipe those kinds of cards. JMO

Maybe they are hoping the big bids scare others off. Plus if you want it really bad, and your snipe winds up losing (when you would have, in fact, paid more), then there is no telling when the next one might come along....

I had the same experience from a auction I bid on recently. It was a modern lot of jersey cards and such, which sell fairly well on other auction sites and here at the store, but anyway, the book on the lot was in the $750 range. I had high bid at just under a hundred and then within the lat few hours a "(0)" feedback buyer ran the auction up to past $240 and won the lot. I checked on the seller, who I wont out because I dont know for sure, but in all the sellers large lots, there is a significant amount of bidding by low or zero FB buyers compared to his single card items where it is rare if anyone under 50 FB bids. Not saying that he was shilling, but it wouldnt surprise me if this didnt go on with a significant amount of higher FB sellers. For reference, this seller was a 5k+ FB seller and a powerseller to boot
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

And then you get the shilled cards relisted about 45 days later. I see this often with Mays and Aaron cards.
