When is it acceptable to contact non buyers during the holiday?

Four auctions and almost $80 worth of items won on Wed. 23rd and still no payment or contact.

I sent another invoice today (I usually just let eBay) so this is the first invoice I have actually sent.

When would it be acceptable to contact these people before filing non-paying disputes?

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

edit to add: these are four different buyers.

Give them 2 days. You sent them the invoice today. After that....do what you need to do.

    deadbeats suck
  • I give them however many days in the auction I state... So if I state 10 I file the dispute so that on the 10th day it hits them with the NPB... It puts a time limit on it rather than giving them even more extra.

    Hope this helps

  • I'd say on day 7, it's already acceptable to contact the buyer and ask what's going on. Now it's simply a matter of how patient you want to be.

My general timeline is: invoice on day 4 or 5, contact attempt on day 10 stipulating that day 14 is the deadline to pay if they are still interested in the item, NPB on day 14. That's if I get no contact at all from the buyer.
If I do receive contact (but no payment) from the buyer, then what I do depends on a variety of factors.

  • Scott Howard might have a good solution for this
