1829/7 bust half question

Just curious if this is a more uncommon obverse. The 9/7 is there of course, but there is also a 2/2 on this one. A broken star on the left of her face is also noticable. Not an expert in this field so I appreciate you

input and any other observations or comments. I will post the best pics I can...thanks!

I think I have seen posted here before that the 1829/7 actually has all digits repunched.

I can't be certain, but seems to come to mind.

That is correct. The whole date was repunched and the nine was hand carved. The original 2 was a square base and the one punched over was a curl base.

edited to add this could be the o-102 variety with the lapping of the die breaking the arrow shafts. Not an expert still crawling.

    From coinfacts.

The coin looks cleaned. But you probably know that.

Thanks for the info. Are there any other opinions out there about the die marriage? Overton-Rarity? Sorry, again this is not my strong suit and don't have the necessary research books. I just happened to pick

this up on Ebay (wasn't identified by the seller as an overdate) and thought I'd pick some brains. One of my favorite designs but will be only able to collect the lower grades occasionally. Thanks again for all of

    your input and enlightenment.

p.s. I showed it to my local b & m and he didn't think it was problematical (i.e. cleaning, damage, etc.) I certainly can't see any major issues through my loupe, but would always defer to an experts opinion.

I see this grading in the the xf40 range.....how close am I ?

Pictures can be deceiving. The top ones are not flattering and give it an over-dipped look. The lower ones feel better but the color balance is off.

If someone you trust gave it a thumbs up you should take it to the bank. I think XF40 is pretty close.

Are you going to submit it for grading? Let us know how it goes. I hope you hit a home run!
