  • If its real it could be a steal

Looked pretty solid condition if the ruth graded anything above a 6 (which it looked like it would if I'm not blind) you'd have around your investment back already

They look too good to be true.

I don't know how to tell if this set of cards is real or fake but they certainly look better then the cards a few months ago that the guy bought on EBAY and posted them here.

Those were very shiny and simply looked way to glossy. These seem like they have a more natural look and the Gehrig being busted up like that would seem to point towards authentic.

I really don't think this guy is stupid enough to make a video indicating they are real and sell someone fakes. This video could be used as evidence I would think to get a refund in a case like this.

Thanks for posting and it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

The cards are authentic. The video has a lot of misinformation though (the quote on the Pie Traynor card is laughable, and it is NOT Mint, I saw flaws even with the shaky cam video).

The cards are NOT R319 Goudeys they are V353 World Wide Gum cards from Canada and from what I saw most are the 1/2 French 1/2 English back variation.

The best cards are the Ruth, then the 3 Jimmie Foxx cards and then the Gehrig. But some of the other cards (ie Vance) may be worth more than the damaged Gehrig is they grade high.

The neg is the V353s are in far less demand compared to the R319s.

PS.Some collectors call these "Canadian Goudeys" but that is wrong, the company that made these is not Goudey.

The price seems good, but you will need to look at the key cards condition overall, and then add up the commons.
