What would you do in this situation

i am getting around $90 in paypal.... well i still need 17 more cards to complete my 2002 fleer greats of the game through the years jersey set.... should i go ahead and buy the top 2 cards in the set (ted williams jersey and jackie robinson jersey) and use all my money on those 2 cards or go for the 15 jerseys that book in the $15-$40 area which the $90 will probably be enough to cover those... advice? thanks

get the big dawgs first... may be in a spot where ya cant get the little ones later...
  • get as many as you can. i have been trying to finish the hardcourt film/floor set, and have been unable to locate a particular card, desmond mason. ive been searching forever! i say, buy it while you can, cause you may not see it again.

  • yeah get the obscure ones if you can. you can always find a williams jersey (i would think). i would say get all the ones you can for the money, and wait on the two big ones

well the jackie robinson is an sp/200 and the williams is an sp/350

not sure what i am gonna do.. i hardly ever see the jackie robinson on ebay.. the williams i usually see 3 or 4 on ebay.... I will have some extra $$ soon because of my job.. will be around $40 every 2 weeks nothing great but it will help
  • I agree with Frank, get the big cards first. Then work your way to the other lower end cards. Once u get the big dogs, its all down hill from there

  • I have to disagree and say go for the lower ones first. You know the dealers at card shows will always bring the williams and robinson, but they may leave the lower ones at home. I think they're will never be a shortage of people looking sell those great cards, buut the little ones may vanish.
Look at the guy whose making the floor/film set...he's in a mighty bind. What dealer, is going to pack up his show stuff and say "Whoah, I better take this Mason card, that'll sell fast LOL"
However, if all he needed was, say, the Garnett, he could probably find 5 on ebay and a few more at a show at any given time.

Do the little ones first. You never know when you are going to be able to find them now. Also couldn't you do one big one and some little ones????? The big ones will pop back up alot more then the little ones.

lol some different opinions.. well the williams usually goes for around $90 cheapest i have seen it go was $74.. i can only find records of 1 jackie robinson jersey selling on ebay and it went for $51 ... so i could maybe look for the robinson and then get some more little ones.. then wait around get some more $$ and go for the williams
  • get the robinson if you can find it, since that seems to be the scarcest. i do think though, that quantity is important, and its good to get as many as you can. plus, you'll feel much closer with only a few more to go..

btw, if anyone does find that mason film/floor card, for the love of God please let me know!!
  • LOL crane, when I go to shows I''ve been asking every dealer I see for one....one day I will find oit and hold it for ransom until you give me $100 in BV LOL
