The first mark likely means that the bar was manufactured in the UK (looks alot like the lady in the wheelchair holding a trident that you see on pence pieces). The Thistle means (at least it did in 1823) use of the Sterling Standard. The castle means that the bar was assayed in Edinburgh Assay Office. The D indicates the bar was made for the Detroit Tigers (not really). The D signifies the date of manufacture - I could not find this one.
