1973 Topps Manager Help

First time poster here. Could someone please show some pics that illustrate the difference between '73 Topps Manager cards with "solid" and "natural" background as stated in SMR. TIA
My favorite ball players throughout the years: Hank Aaron, Dale Murphy, Ellis Burks, Lance Berkman

    When first issued, the coaches had a "natural" or brown background behind them. After issuing these Topps decides it was too dark and changed the background to solid orange

  • zep, when I was a kid in the 70s - I dreamed up a comic book character named Mithril Man. (as an aside he had the same powers as the villain in Terminator 2 - they totally ripped me off...)

    As far as the logo. Spent the college summers of '88 and '89 in Boston working everyday at Star Market and going on home nights and weekends to Fenway and blowing the pay. Great times. Probably saw 60 games. Favorite player -> Ellis Burks

    Welcome to the boards!

    I am just about finished with my 1973 master set...and only need two more manager variations (dick williams 179 brown, and yogi 257 brown). i have found these two brown variations to be very tough, but maybe its just because those are the ones i need!
