Folks expected the vote between Posey and Jason Heyward to be very close, but it wasn't that close at all. Posey got 20 1st place votes, to Heyward's 9.
Posey was the right pick. He got behind the plate as a rookie and successfully handled one of the best pitching staffs in the majors, gunned down runners, producing in the #3 and cleanup spots it he lineup, and contributing towards turning a middle-of-the-division team into a World Champion.

<< <i>On a side note, on local sports talk radio, this was mentioned on the Radnich/Bruno segment, and Tony Bruno said that he expected Posey's rookie card to skyrocket in value now. I think they said someone checked Beckett, and the value of the RC was $13. Bruno was telling people to invest in the card, but then also said he purchased signed Lindros rookies for his kids, and the value of those cards had plummetted. >>
The time to "invest" in Posey rookies was last season.
2008 Bowman Chrome Buster Posey autographed rookie cards were going for $36 in September 2009. They're going for over $90 on Ebay now.
