  • Looks like the buyer has asked to pay with a money order (ouch) and the seller was dumb enough to post his response, so that I would know.

The ebay scammers really come out at holiday season time like parasitic bedbugs do late at night. The scammers know that some naive spouses are looking for surprise gifts for their card collecting family members, and get taken by these scams.

of course, when Tusser penned that quote, there was no Internet, so it should rightfully be amended.....

Why was it dumb for the seller to post his response?

The seller must have salivated when he got that email from the buyer.
  • For some reason, that cert # does not come up in the PSA cert verification. I wonder why. image

I can't decide if I'm angrier at the seller for what he pulled or the buyer for being that big of an idiot.

If it is a scam, then it is illogical to provide any additional information to someone like you or me.

  • Per the seller, "Unfortunatley, I have to part with this card as I am extremely shorty on bills an have to support my famlily."

This seller really isn't hurting too bad in regards to paying off bills.

He could start by not buying cards.

    Two things come to mind:

    1) The scammer/seller probably used another ID to ask that question -- this way they have not "advertised" that they accept money orders.

    2) If a buyer really asked that question, it could have been an error that the scammer/seller made. A few times I've forgotten to unclick the "would you like to post this question" block when answering a question (eBay now has this block automatically checked for you).

If payment is by MO, the buyer has no recourse under paypal buyer protection, so I'd say SteveK is correct that he's be salivating over that question for seller, enough to post it and hope the winner sends payment using that method.
