<< <i>Mike ... I root for ND as well (although not as crazy as you) ... but when you friggin lose to Navy and Tulsa in BACK to BACK weeks you gotta love a win against ANY ranked team ... no matter how much you think they don't deserve to be ranked. >>
I hear ya, make no mistake, a win is better than a loss any day. Just not very excited about the state of the football program right now, and pretty much down on college football in general. I live relatively close to TCU, and am absolutely tired of hearing about them down here. They beat Utah last week, and you would have thought they won the SuperBowl . IMO, TCU would get waxed by several teams this year, as would Boise State, and I despise listening and reading all the rah rah BS of local sportscasters and sportswriters down here. One good thing, at least with a marginal at best ND waxing Utah as well, maybe some people will realize that TCU's win was really not that impressive.

<< <i> I much prefer a handful of truly dominant teams rather than the "anybody can win" games we have today.
Mike >>
That's only because you're a Notre Dame fan and that's when Notre Dame was included in that "dominant" category. Now anyone has a chance, and makes it fun for us "little guys".

100% true there, I don't deny that. To me, it's a heckuva lot more fun to see USC, Texas, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Florida, Miami, etc, dominate then it is to watch Boise State, TCU and those types. Just a different preference, it is what it is.

Oh I completely agree on the Boise's and TCU's of the world, although I do hold higher respect for TCU than Boise. However I love the fact that teams like Oregon can come out and have great seasons, or how schools like my own can at least achieve rankings despite not having years and years of prestigious football under their belt.
And Notre Dame may never get back to where they once were but they'll at least resemble a shell of their former selves eventually. I'd love to make the trip up to South Bend next season when we open up the season against you all but just don't know how I could financially do that. I'm looking forward to it though! A Holtz will be coaching in South Bend (albeit for the other team) again!

k,
Goot,
Other than the costs to get you to South Bend, you can do it fairly cheap, especially if you take a couple buddy's to split the costs. As long as you are willing to spend the night more than 35 miles away or so, you can stay cheaply at hotels/motels. You can also pickup tickets on campus right around game time at face value or less. You can eat at tailgaters that go all day and the Notre Dame fans will be hospitable to you (as long as your not obnoxious), even if you are in opposing gear, and feed you and give you beverages. I've even seen them give opposing fans tickets many times. It's a great experience for a college football fan. If you can swing it, go.

I will definitely have to consider it and probably will ask some friends/my dad if they'd be interested. And be obnoxious at ND? I know better then that haha.
I'm sure Lou will be there too. I don't see how he would miss that game! Important question is, which green and gold would he be wearing?
can they beat ARMY?
i hope they beat sc
