Why does eBay let new bidders do this? UPDATED (Guy got NARU'd, and just won the item... again!)

This is one of my NPBs that won a card from me last Sunday.
Losertown, population this guy.
They've won 158 items in the past week. Judging by the fact that they've only received a couple of positive feedback, I'm assuming they won all this stuff with no intention of ever paying for it.
I sold a Stephen Strasburg card out of Topps Update... got a decent amount for it. Of course, now when I relist it, I probably won't get half of what I made the first go around.
Wouldn't make sense to limit new bidders to some number of wins per week until they can establish a track record? (10, 20 wins, something... some number less than 200.)

Try the Second Chance Offer to the underbidder... Never hurts to try and might get you significantly more than if you relist.
Sure wish I could do something about this. If you're selling Topps Update Gold or Black, I'd suggest blocking this guy.
Is it possible this guy is doing this intentionally to deflate the market, so there will be less competition for this stuff when it finally gets relisted?

A sound idea, makes perfectly good sense. "Good sense"? That's why e-bay never thought of instigating a rule as such.
<< <i>25 more items won since yesterday.

Thanks for the heads up buyer now blocked.
like you I wish ebay would set a limit of auctions & amount that newbies are allowed to bid on. I have 7 auctions ending tonight and the high bidder on 3 of these auctions has 1 feedback & the other bidder has less than 70, what bothers me the most is it might scare off other bidders.
also have 2 auctions from 8 to 10 days ago still not paid for, both winners have less than 50 feedbacks.
Here are a couple of my winners that never paid over the last few months: bjrivait,hideawayzee,lizcabcar22. oh well all still active all under 25 feedback. THANKS ebay/fleebay
Just one of those small percentages I feel

Riiiiiight... EBay is going to make a rule limiting how much customers can buy. I bet a lot of B&M stores get rich doing that too.

Seems to me bidding on all of one item, would have a great potential of driving the prices up rather then down.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Not if you aren't going to pay for it.
Especially for "new" items.... When it first comes out, you have six bidders for a hot item.... after the others come out of the woodwork, you can pick everything up for the opening bid a month later when it finally gets relisted.
On the upside, he hasn't won anything yet today.

I relisted the item last Sunday.
He promptly registered again, and won the item from me again tonight.
Same Jackass
He's won 128 items since Friday night.... So I'm sure I'll get to do this again.
I'm exceptionally pissed right now... and I don't think there's anything else I can do to prevent this from happening again.
Two questions:
How soon before I can file an NPB?
Anyone want to buy a Topps Update Gold Stephen Strasburg?

If you can prove to eBay it is the same person with a new ID you should be able to get the transactions cancelled right away, have had to go this route myslef in the past.

You will have to contact a CS rep and attempt to explain it to them. Be persistant and talk slow when explaining it to them. Good luck.

Yup.
If you get a 90+ IQ CS-monkey, they will usually NARU the
repeaters while you are on the phone.
I searched and couldn't find one.
