need some help on historical price trends on 1933 goudy #144 Babe Ruth PSA 8. And opinions

My friend called me today and said he has some extra money and would like to invest in this card.
Was curious on how it performed over the last 20years and what I think the future would be over the next 20.
Can someone chime in with some vcp prices and your opinion on whether you think this would be a good investment over the next 20yrs and why.
Thanks for your time and any input.
I know vcp only goes back 3yrs but it would be a start.

So a better investment would be POGs, Beanie Babies and wrestling cards.
Jk, Who knows its a great card and I dont think it will be 0.00 in 20 years so hope that helps
Having said that, if you're going to invest in an iconic card, it really has to be Ruth or Mantle and the Goudey set is very iconic but I don't see a price increase coming that will gain you much over inflation.

It was double printed and took the place of the #106 card (Nap Lajoie/Durocher) on the sheet.
The #106 card was intentionally removed by Goudey from production so kids could spend all their pennies on looking for a card that didnt exist, trying to complete a set.
Besides that I think its the nicest looking of the Ruths in the R319 set. But its sure is never going to be considered scarce....
Supply and demand issues will keep it in check, especially with collectors who gain knowledge on PreWar cards.
Fat Wallet Newbies love the card far more than advanced PreWar collectors...
It is easily the 2nd most common Ruth card from his playing days, following the Sanella Cards from 1932
