    Great card
  • charity case?

  • << <i>Why a 'pro' would not grade a $500 PSA 8 NM - MT card and list it for $100 raw is suspect at best. Did it not fit in the submission with the GW you wrote about in the listing? No reverse image either. Lazy? Opportunistic? Charity? Loser? >>

    Morning,

Wow, my exact thoughts!! So what aren't we disclosing here? Hey Carew, nothing personal but would love to hear your justification on this, and I think the estimate could even be low, if that came back a 7 or a 7.5 I think your looking at an $500-$1000 card, if an 8, then Auction House and possibly $1000-$3000 card. So what aren't you telling us? I can tell you this, if it had a 1 in 10 cahnce of coming back an 8 it would be on its way to PSA NOW, at least two-three times!!!!!

    So?

    Thanks
    Neil

You two guys crack me up. We have all become so cynical (thanks to PSA) that any and i mean ANY SELLER...who now sells PSA cards and "ungraded" has altered motives. Meaning all the cards that come back with problems that "you" all crack out and sell as NM/MT to the next sucker. I don't do that. Never have, never will. That's why i "still have" my 71 Carew cards and the doctored cards from that Ebay seller that is the "colorer" king... that i could easily sell as nm/mt to the next dope. Again, i don't do that. There is also no PSA pricing on these cards(hello, PSA, ANYONE???). As i discussed with the #1 Set builder--Dave and Steve Novella-- i was scared as crap it would come back a PSA 5 with that mysterious wrinkle that none of us ever seem to find. As for this card i am trying to re-coup some $2,000 i have sent to PSA for subs over the last two months. Not inclusing the two orders still there. Not that i have to explain any of this to you guys. I expect the card if submitted to PSA to get on a good day a 7.5. Right bottom corner has a small ding which i told Dave. When i get home tonight from work i will add the back of the card that way there aren't any surprises. This card front/back is in the same condition as my G.W. minus the small ding. If you don't like it, don't bid.

I made this offer to a fellow PSA member interested in the card

If it comes back(N-1 THRU N-8)...i would refund from Ebay auction-- minus grading/shipping fee, As i would be taking the same risk with PSA if i submit the card myself.

So i will put my money where my mouth is to the board. How about you??
  • I love that you still put "insurance optional" in your listing.

Actually for that card i will change that. just a carry over form statement from all auctions (copy/paste)
  • Evening,
Yep your right I am getting paranoid, its called getting burned on several High Dollar cards on E-Bay (Non Board members), so as I said I wouldn't have left money on the table, I meant it. As long as you aren't hiding anything, which I didn't say you were, but to not originally have a back scan and maybe a scan of the corner in question makes one wonder why?
Wasn't trying to impune you in particular, just maybe your entire presentation of the card could leave one to believe that something fishy was going on, with those of us who have been around the Block a time or two.
So I'll post this on the thread and state I wasn't saying you were doing anything crooked, but should be carefull of how you present stuff on these boards, it can be misconstrued!

And I personally, still wouldn't EVER be selling that card NOT in a PSA Holder...........Period!!!

    Out

Just a little fyi....i did alot of research before even sending the G.W. in for grading and contacted 3 top PSA dealers (imo) with scans before i even subbed the card asking for their opinions. They weren't very helpful. VCP was of little help as well for pricing as most were low grade cards.

Back scan added to Ebay auction along with the back of the G.W.....

    Carew,
I would not let everyone bother you.

Is everyone aware of the difficulty of this issue in high grade? Everyone is commenting on the corners and such plus print marks etc.
Everyone does not grade every card.

Personally, I would grade the card. I may place a bid if it doesn't go to high.

Cuts on cards from Pre War can be all over the place.

Wondering if anyone from these boards bought the Taylor for $130.00.

Wish I would've seen this in time. Might have been the best couple of hundred I could have spent... Talk about a no lose proposition!

The guy who bought the Zach is sending in the card to PSA after Thanksgiving and will be sending me a scan. As a "PSA Dealer" he will be getting a quicker turnaround time..i assume.

Also gave him the same oppurtunity as this board...

If it comes back(N-1 THRU N-8)...i would refund from Ebay auction-- minus grading/shipping fee, As i would be taking the same risk with PSA if i submit the card myself.

Received the Warren Harding tonight in the mail and will be heading out to PSA tomorrow. All three have been bought by me from the same seller.
