vcp help

1978 Topps Mike Bossy # 115 PSA 10 -- got a seller trying to tell me the other sold for $1,500.00 last year on eBay (which I know for a fact it didn't) and his $1300 off eBay offer is appropriate.

Thanks in advance,

Patrick

Thank you Jim, that is exactly what I thought.

  • Patrick,

I think that person selling the Bossy is on crack. That card is not worth any where near $1300 imo. Maybe for the opc but not the topps.

    Mike,

If an OPC PSA 10 showed up (and it was really a PSA 10 and not some fluke that got in a 10 holder) I can see it going for about $3 to $5,000.00 (and I'd be in on the bidding).

The seller here said that he has two offers of over $1,000 and he is holding out for $1300 including shipping - off eBay.

I asked him if he knows how much the first PSA 10 sold for and his reply, well I'll just post the whole thing, "the last ebay sale on this card was $1500 last year. she's a beauty and i have had a lot of interest including 2 offers over $1000 thus far but i'm holding out for $1300 off ebay or $1399 on ebay."

Realistically I can see this card selling for $300-$500.00...what do you think?

  • I was thinking the 300 to 500 range also. I see that there is a 9 on ebay with a bin of 140, so 3-5 hundred isn't to far out of the price range. However if anybody was to drop 5 bills on this card it would have to be a legit 10.

  • Patrick,

I also think this seller is full of it with his stated offers.

Wow there are only two Topps PSA 10's and no O-pee-chee 10's. I always get a kick out of how the SMR has a price for a card that has yet to be graded.

I don't know anything about Hockey cards but I can guarentee it would go for more then the $1,000 estimate for an O-pee-chee 10.

If you are predicting $3,000 to $5,000 I am going to guess on the very high end of that range or more. There are enough of these cards graded for collectors to realize how rare that card is.
