I don't know if it is my eyes but the bottom left edge border looks a little short to me like it might of been slimmed down a bit. It could just be me though or the way the scan looks..

It's exactly the same size as the campanella card, scans just doing something funny at the bottom.
Either that or the resizing of pic

I agree. I didn't see it at first but it does look funny down there. The card looks very nice... but not sure it would grade. There is a reason it's not in a holder now.

It's a fresh lot, it's heading for a holder, the card is the right size and looks great. That was my reason for showing it.
  • Good luck. I am with you, it looks beautiful. Please let us know what grade it gets.

there appears to be a very slight slant in the cut, but i don't think that will keep it out of a holder. i'd be a little more concerned about the fading of the black line around the image.

    very nice card.

digital shots will distort. Need to use a scanner.

I used to find razor sharp 1951 and 1952 Bowmans all the time back in the 70-80s when I advertised and bought shoebox loads of 1950-60s stuff. They are study stocked and survived often undamaged because the larger Topps cards issued from that time took the brunt of the rubber band edge wear and damage. Wax stains and print lines are the bigger prob with them sharp 51/52 Bowman cards.

On a side note the Campy in pic has a strange cut, the bottom looks like a slant cut yet the top isnt (not diamond cut)

Wow, Campy had 198 RBIs that year, thats got to be a record image
