    my baseball coach in college pitched on the cards in late 60's with gibson, he said when he pitched the rest of the relivers wouldn't even out their jocks on and would eat hotdogs in the bullpen cuz they knew they wern't pitching tht day.

    of course he had a puppy he named gibby we had to keep our eye on my senior year.

    Better than Steve Carlton? Carlton did pitch seven seasons with the Cardinals...

    yea, I "hate" to admit it image .....because Carlton is one of my all time favorite pitchers...

    ...but Gibson was better, one of the best pitchers I've ever seen, second only to Koufax and it's close.
