Hi, my account wpr101 got banned from the forum with no message and no explanation?
How do you figure out why you were banned? Who is the moderator around here?

You can ask to "SportsModerator1".
do as ciccio suggested and send a PM to SM1 ...
BTW... Do you get a message with the original user name that you are not authorized to log on? or did you just forget your Password?
I hadn't even posted anything in over 2 weeks, and I tried to respond to a post on this board where it said something like your privledges from posting on this board have been removed.
Then I logged out and tried to log back in, but it said my account was banned from logging in now too lol.
Seriously no warning or email at all for this?
foul language, inappropriate pictures, potentially libelous posts about other people or companies... no warning.

I made a post on the US Coin Forum asking about buying my first US pattern coin. Got about 15 awesome replies, and got some tips in PMs. Then one guy listed out six reasons why this was a horrible idea for me, and I would likely get ripped off. He was also making fun of the questions I asked... so I asked "Why do you think I'm asking questions in the first place dumbass?". Thread got derailed by it.
Didn't know it was so strict around here, and wouldn't have posted that if I knew. Other forums I am on are much different... just saying a warning or temp ban would be nice.

I'd think it was for the comment you made in this thread.
A definite no-no! I'm also surprised your able to login after confessing that your wpr101 account had been banned (which it was BTW).
The name is LEE!
Not saying it was or wasn't justified. Just sayin.
I could see why either example could get you bammed by the letter of the DW law. MJ
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

I don't see a lot of evidence they monitor this board closely. Yes, SM1 posts here and reads
but most of the things that get people bammed are because they get reported. It appears
no one here is reporting people.
The new user might sneak in under the radar. You might want to modify the thread title.
Welcome aboard.
did you use a different email acct and computer?
there are posting rules at the us coin which apply to all forums->
Rule 1) This is not a public forum. This is a PCGS forum paid for by PCGS and provided for PCGS customers to exchange information regarding collecting US coins. We make the rules this is not a democracy.
Rule 2) Anyone posting crude or vulgar pictures or language will no longer be allowed to post. No more warnings.
Rule 3) Anyone attacking another poster or making disparaging personal remarks will no longer be allowed to post. No more warnings.
Rule 4) Anyone making libelous remarks concerning any individual, any company, or any other entity will no longer be allowed to post. No more warnings.
Rule 5) If you have nothing to contribute to an OP then do not post. Snide remarks and other negative comments will result in your losing your ability to post. No more warnings.
Rule 6) This forum is about US Coins. If your post is not directly related to US Coins then this is the wrong forum. Do not post it or your posting privileges may be removed.
Rule 7) This is a PCGS forum. Posts promoting or bashing other grading companies or service are not allowed. Those posts will be removed and your posting privileges may be removed as well.
Rule 8) This forum is provided for the education and sharing of information. Not as a personal soapbox. If you want to learn and share information about US Coins you are welcome.
Rule 9) If you don't like any of the rules outlined above see Rule 1.

You have no idea LOL. If there's one message board that you care enough about to stay on, and this is it if you buy & sell regularly, I advise you to read the rules, thoroughly...and then read them again OR if you wait long enough someone will be quick to point them out to you. Good in the sense that it keeps it all on the up & up for the most part, but kind of dictator-like at the same time.
Ultimately for me, I guess I've conformed a bit because I've had some really nice BS&T transactions here and would like it to continue now that I've all but closed my eBay account. Not to metion that I feel that I've made a few friends here. (made a few enemies too lol, but thats life on a message board)

Just to elaborate a bit on cladking's comment, our board sponsors have told us that they WANT us to help police the board. They expect us to self-monitor, and make reports of problems when they occur. If we don't do that, it's likely that PCGS will just get rid of the message boards. They are not going to dedicate resources to monitoring the posts here. If we don't do it, we'll lose it.
I know that many newer members aren't aware of this expectation and feel that if the moderators don't say anything about a post, then it must be OK, and that it's not the role of the members here to report other members. Just want to make sure people have correct understanding.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Now I understand.
BTW, the "Rules" quoted prior to this reply are specifically tailored for the US Coin Forum (i,e, RULE 6). Other users are advised to read the Terms of Use (TOU) and Terms of Membership (TOM) at the bottom of every page.
