I just got off the phone with the US Mint regarding my subscription order. Looks like the ship date is now early December.

You "had" to subscribe. US Mint
I used "had" because it looks like the subscriptions are now for the 2011 Proof and Unc ASE.

I would not order a bunch of these with the intent to profit.
Many will load up with the generous limit of 100 with dollar signs in their eyes.
These will be all over eBay for a long time @$45-50 each.

    Loves me some shiny!

Same here. Units backordered and price confirmed.

I remember when the Mint announced the production of the 2010 ASE proo, the price increase looked outrageous (from 31.95 to 45.95).

Interesting analysis in Mint News Blog

I am not loading up, I ordered just 3 (2 for me and 1 for my dad) but if the mintage comes out very low these could be good flippers.
It will be more clear as soon as we have an idea of the mintage, which will probably be high.

I forgot I subscribed to 100 of these last year in case they were offered, I didn't want to miss them. So I've got 100 on order, cancel box gone, at 45.95. Spot may be there before they ship. --Jerry

It depends. Will they mint to order or stop producing come December 31st? They just pushed back the shipping date to December 3rd. The initial limit is 100 but the Mint may be forced to announce a quick sell out if they do not plan on producing 2010 ASE Proofs after the year ends.

Should the POS eventually exceed the purchase price of these proofs will they still carry a premium over a bullion ASE?
I have a bunch of '07 & '08 burnished ASE's taking up room in the ol'safe that are now just bullion that I overpaid for ! ! ! image

5 each, 2 each 1 each, 1 each and 1 each for my subscriptions. So a total of 10 for my subscriptions. You can't subsribe for this year anymore. Subscriptions now are for 2011. I would rather load up on silver than gold. I think silver still has more growth potential.

Should a change occur, the new price will be listed on your 30-day pre-fulfillment notification.

So they locked in the price from your email notification. But can still change the price?

mine already show reserved and ready to ship. They gave me a notice that their was a delay until Nov 19. I think the price is locked for these puppies.

Mine too. Ship date Nov 24. The mint can do anything with these orders they like even cancel them if silver reaches $45.

i think they could change the price, after the sub. price was honored, that was my premise

ordering day 1 - noon - as always.

got fed up with subscriptions when those orders were filled after my "live" orders.

    no thanks.

also have nowhere to cancel them. you have to call and ask for customer service help to cancel those damn things before next year rolls around.....if you want a diff quantity

have mixed feelings about the 2010 ASE proof. my thoughts are they have been "striking" since sept at rate of 200k per month (per the mint directors comments a few months ago) - which puts this at possibly 800k coins or more at year end....a normal mintage year.

the only upside is silver running strong towards $30 and beyond, the $45.95 price doesnt seem too bad anymore.

....and that's no joke. Even if it's not there by December, it'll be there soon enough!

My guess is the 2011 SAE proofs will be $59.95/ea from the mint.

The price for non subscription coins will most likely go up from the subscription price. The Mint is trying to decide what to do right now as they have been watching the price of silver closely. Drop date is next Friday, so stay tuned for more interesting developments.
