New Wren Farthing

Nothing really special, an Eliz. II Wren farthing in PCGS 66 BN. I really wish I could photograph this better, beautiful toning with lots of lovely medium blue covering much of the obverse and almost woodgrain blue and brown on the reverse. This is the prettiest I have seen to add to my type set.

Pretty, pretty coin. I've always liked the wrens. Simple but effective and attractive design. Congrats on a nice pickup.

  • Really nice Jeff. I've been piling up quite a few Elizabeth farthings trying for MS and Proof 66-not as easy as some might think.
No,no- the kids and the cat are all right honey.
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

That is a very pretty coin, but it is not "new." In fact the coin is 57 years old.
