Just lost to LSU, two losses are not going to cut it.

I don't think any SEC team will run the gauntlet undefeated this season. Auburn is the only remaining candidate and I don't think they'll beat both Georgia and Alabama over the next 2 weeks.

Until someone beats an SEC team in the national championship again, then you should just assume that the SEC champ will get an automatic invite, regardless of their record.

They will beat Georgia. Alabama is another story, but Cam Newton is the real deal. The Iron Bowl should be great.

I love how non-SEC fans make all of these jokes, but yet the SEC keeps winning. I am a grad from an ACC school. I am not foolish enough to think Virginia Tech (the perennial ACC champ) would ever win the SEC. I doubt Ohio State would ever win it. Say what you will, the SEC is a football beast!

Yes, you are another voice of reason in the anti-SEC jealous world that we live in.

12 BCS national championship games so far.

The SEC is 6-0 out of those 12 games.

    Nuff Said.

BTW, the pac-10 has yet to win one of those 12 BCS championship games, but they're a great conference image

I am in an official state of mourning. It is against my nature to pull for Auburn to beat Bama, so I guess I am rooting for the NC streak to end this year.

USC won the national championship in 2004.
  • It's a win-win CT. If Bama wins, you're happy. If Auburn wins, you're sad, but you get to see a chance for five straight, which
both Alabama teams may play a part in.

    BTW,
The Southeastern Conference leads all leagues with seven teams in the Top 25.

Fail. They are stripped of that title.

Oh please. Everyone knows they were the best team that year.

The big ten has the most teams in the top 10.

Oh please, everyone knows that Auburn would have delt them a loss the same way Texas did.
Auburn had 5 players taken in the first round in the following years draft.

You sound so confident? By Georgia's standards they've had very very average teams the past few years, yet they've managed to beat Auburn 4 years in a row. In case you didn't catch that last part, I'll say it again: 4 years in a row. Don't be fooled by the records, Georgia v Auburn is rarely over until the final minutes.

Don't give us that BS. USC cheated and they were punished. They no longer have any claim on the '04 title, so give it a rest. I know its easy to fall into that trap of thinking that the only thing that matters is what happened on the field, but if every other school in the country gave players living arrangements akin to what Reggie Bush enjoyed, then USC would not get the cream of the crop talent every year. I'll never understand why some people turn a blind eye to schools that cheat as if its not important. It is.

  • I like to look not just at the best team, but the lower rated teams in a conference. Auburn is the top team in the SEC. But there is also LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, South Carolina, Florida, and Mississippi State. The bottom feeders this year in the SEC are Ole Miss, Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt. Those teams are not that bad. Not great, but certainly not horrible. Any of those teams (except maybe Vandy) would challenge for the title in most years in any non-BCS conference or the ACC.

I am not sticking up for cheating. However if you think USC is the only major college team that cheats, you are living in a fantasy world. USC just got caught. When Bush gave up his heisman, Vince Young said that to him Bush is still the winner.
