Just picked up this Duke Snider Auto

Im going to piuck up auto'd baseballs of Hall of Fame players as I come across them and they are priced right and with authentication
So, I stopped at a store in Mathews NC today on the way home to see my Mom.
Talked with the owner who has been in business for over 20 years. Heck of a nice guy. Lots of vintage too. I asked for 60 topps and he pulls out about 1500 cards. 57 Topps, about 600. Fairly priced as well.
So, here is what I bought.

Going to make it back to his shop when I have more time and more money. I got the ball for $75 which I am more than pleased with.

Nice looking ball. Enjoy it. However, next time you go back I would try to do some negotiating on his prices.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Is the ball authenticated by anyone? $75 is high for a PSA/DNA Snider baseball but he is a great one. As long as you are happy thats all that matters! image

Price didn't seem outrageous. What do his autos usually go for?
The ball has a registration number that can be looked up at MLB.com if I remember him correctly. They couldn't put their hands on the cert.

I got a nice Snider ball (OMLB) for $30 I think

You didn't get a bad deal; when you buys things from a "brick/mortar" shop, you have to expect to pay nearly full retail for most things.

Hey, if this sparks your interest into collecting autographs/memorabilia, that's the most important thing.

Signed balls are available TTM with a $10.00 donation. Net cost with shipping, SASE, donation and ball purchase is about $30.00...

Ok. I'm still not upset at having paid that much.
Can you give me the link for the TTM? Does Duke sign things other than baseballs?

I believe I may have read that he is currently not signing TTM

Tim Kirkjian was on with Tony Korhieser this past week and said he had been asked by ESPN to write the obituary for both Sparky Anderson and Duke Snider. He said it was a very sad week for him to have to write 2 obits. Apparantly Duke is quite ill has taken a turn for the worse recently.

Wow, that sucks to hear about Duke. But, he is up there in age. I recently bought a signed JSA bat.
