Ebay Seller gives his own take on Ebay's DSR system.......

This came from one of TonyETrade's listings: ( 57 Clemente PSA 7.5 currently on Ebay)
"The DSR Ratings are the 5 star ratings in my feedback profile. Most people think this 5 tiered rating is very similar to the typical school type grading system where 5 stars would be an “A” grade and 4 stars would be a “B” grade and so on. Ebay’s DSR grading system is not anything like the school grading system. A seller will get suspended for a total rating of 4.3 or less regardless of their feedback. This means that a rating of 4 stars is basically a failing grade and giving a 4 star rating will get a seller suspended and it only takes a very few 4 Star ratings to get suspended. I would ask that you DO NOT use the DSR ratings as they are flawed and if you do choose to use the DSR Ratings, please leave a 5 star rating. Anything less than a 5 Star rating is a failing grade in Ebay’s Detailed Seller Grading System. Ebay doesn’t clarify the way their style of grading works (or doesn’t work) anywhere on their site, so I am clarifying it here. If you enjoy my Ebay auctions, please adhere to the above recommendations…as if I continually get suspended I will no longer be able to sell my products on Ebay. 100% positive feedback is no longer acceptable to Ebay. It’s all about the stars…when you click 4 as “reasonable” for shipping costs, it can get the seller suspended. It makes about zero sense, but as the Ebay PowerSeller person told me after I was suspended “It is What It Is”.

That would solve part of the problem.
Of course, that's what Ebay wants everyone to do.
vs. a seller who takes 8-9 days to ship to you.
Ebay allows 10 days. However, 2-3 days is a lot better than 8-9 days, yet
I'm supposed to give them both 5's?
1) If I'm largely satisfied, I give 5 stars for everything.
2) If I'm somewhat satisfied, but not completely, I won't fill out the DSR.
3) If I'm not satisfied at all and/or the seller was a jerk in some way, I fill out the DSR accordingly.

The only good thing about suspending people for a 4.3 DSR is the fact that eventually those sellers will find other alternatives. I think the world will have a single loud cheer the day ebay goes under.
<< <i>My dilemna on feedback is what to do with a seller who ships to you in 2-3 days

<-------all 5.0's.
<< <i>Then Tony should consider Free S&H.

And then some people will still give him 4 stars on shipping.

Offer free shipping and the buyer can't leave DSR in that category.
I'm certain the DSR system has accomplished its goal of nabbing lazy or bad sellers, but it's thrown the baby out with the bath water.

<< <i>The interesting thing about this is that it's driving away sellers who have thousands of transactions on Ebay. People who have paid thousands in fees to Ebay over the years, and apparently built somewhat decent reputations by virtue of the fact they have tons of transactions.

The good thing about this is gone are the days where it takes 2 weeks to get your item.
However if a good seller like tonytrade can get suspended, then we are all in trouble.
Right now I am dealing with many postal issues, which is killing me. I ship the item the next day, and now is "sitting" in a state for the last 5 days, the the buyer cannot even read the postal site which he thinks it was delivered to someone else when the someone else is where it stated "accepted" by the post office..
Oh well... get I will get bad rating for shipping time on this one...
