This came in the mail yesterday.

  • Did that come in a normal envelope. I received that same letter, but it did not contain any dirt.

  • That is a really good coupon...if it can be used on specials at least.

    Yes it did, PWE.
  • I got the letter, but my envelope had a slit in the bottom corner of it. Same thing happened to a few other people too.
  • Got mine today in the envelope shown.

Figured they would have mlb holos as I noted in the other thread.

Sorry to hear they are falling out of some envelopes.....at least you have the coupon and it really is a good deal.

Like for example, Steiner has recently deceased Bobby Thompson at about half price right....or did last week. Knock another $25 off and a pretty good deal, or average deal without paying for Steiner cerification. Hve not looks around there site this week so I dont know the current specials...but will tonight.

I tried using the coupon code on an item that was on special and it would not let me, only on a full price item. But that was just my experience.
    Looking for Carl Willey items.

    Ouch!
  • Well, I am with a couple of the others, where the coupon arrived, but it was missing the dirt.

    If you look up the hologram on mine on mlb.com, it notes;

YANKEE STADIUM DIRT FROM BUCKET WITH HOLOGRAM # LH796360

Session Name: DIRT AUTHENTICATION - STEINER SPORTS
    Session Date: March 30, 2010
    Autographer:
    Authenticator: AUTHENTICATORS, INC

    (end)

For some reason I thought we were getting 2008 dirt from the old stadium. I think it said the old stadium or something to make me think that. But it is all good, and even if the coupon doesnt work on specials...I will still likely use it.

(I have 2009 dirt for sale in the crystals, but I am down to only one left I think.)

  • Hologram number LH796360 was located in the MLB Authentication Database under DIRT RE-SEAL.

Session Name: DIRT AUTHENTICATION - STEINER SPORTS
    Session Date: January 12, 2010
    Autographer:
    Authenticator: AUTHENTICATORS, INC.
Additional Information: BUCKET CONTAINING INFIELD DIRT FROM ORIGINAL YANKEE STADIUM.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • So I guess it did come from the original stadium, and would be 2008 dirt, when Steiner made the Yankee deal to sell the stadium in pieces.

  • So I guess I could pay Authenticators to come to my house and break my capsule up into the tops of little plastic things on 100 pencils featuring Mickey Mantle...hmmm.
