  • How big is that dirt? It looks like it is the size of a quarter in the photo. I thought it was going to be in a cannister around the size of a hockey puck.

It is closer to around the size of a half dollar. The sheet behind it in the photo is an 8x10. Puck size would be more than $3.99 to ship, I think image
  • The containers are a little over 1.5 inches.

None of their containers are hockey puck size, except the coster sets, which have one of these in its center.

You can get coster sets and crystals, with dirt or astroturf, from almost every or every major stadium....they offer 30-40 different ones I think and have not noticed any major baseball or football team missing, but there might be one or two. The coaster sets and the crystals are around $50-80.

I emailed CS and it took less then 3 hours for them to respond, and stated they were going to send another out my way. I'd suggest you do the same.

I got that letter a few days ago and discarded it, thinking it was just spam and that my "dirt" was still on the way. I didn't realize that it was supposed to be included in that envelope!. Looks like I'll have to contact CS.

Does anyone know how anyone will believe that it's Yankee dirt if it doesn't say "Yankee Stadium" anywhere on the canister?

I think the number on the canister can be looked up online to give full details.

Thanks, I guess I was hoping that it would have said it on the canister.

    Same thing happened to me.

    Torn envelope, no dirt.

I wonder how many people they'll have to send to twice? Probably knock out most of what they made charging $4 shipping for $1 in postage and a PWE.

Phil: "Boss, I've got a great idea! We can advertise something as "free" then we'll charge them $4 to ship it! Better yet, we'll just chuck it in an envelope, and we'll make about $3 on each one!"

Boss: "Great idea, Phil! Run with it."

Phil's friend calls Steiner in a few weeks.... "Yes, may I speak to Phil in Marketing?"

Receptionist: "Uuummmm.... Phil no longer works here."

    Great job, Phil.

I still don't have mine. That's ridiculous. I'll never buy from Steiner again simply because of their sh@#ty shipping time.

I don't have mine either. image

The coupon they enclose will be expired before it gets here!

I was so unimpressed with mine that I didn't even see the coupon. Very, very basic packaging.

At least ya'll received yours. I am still waiting for mine....and I placed mine weeks ago!
  • I think overall you guys are being hard on Steiner. The dirt is a great deal at $4.00 with shipping. I am really surpized so many fell out as the paper with the coupon is a nice thick paper.

I have sold about these 50 dirt things, the same size, inside the crystal base for ~$60 each. I dont think the crystal base is worth $50.00.

Also, I used my coupon to buy three autographed Mets caps that were $20 before shipping, so with the coupon savings they will cost me under $15 each after shipping. Cheaper then I can buy them unsigned.

I thought the coupon was for $25 off with a $50 minimum purchase??

    $60 is over $50 I think.

  • Got my dirt in the mail today, this time they mailed it in a manilla envelope. Much better then a PWE.

Took only a few days after I emailed them about the initial problem.
  • goose3goose3 Posts: 11,471 ✭✭✭
never got mine or an envelope.

When I ordered, their site clearly stated UPS shipping.

So, I entered my Physical Address.

I have a PO Box for my mail. Apparently Steiner shipped these USPS. They are sending another.

Thank God I used my spare email to order that dirt. I see several spams from Steiner in that box already.
