What the heck is a Jag-WYRE?

If the Jags end up moving to LA (which seems to be the rumour), I hope they change the name of the team. I am so sick of hearing the team called the Jag-WYRES. Chris Mortenson does this. Jim Nantz does this. At least half of the sportscasters do this. Where is the "WYRE" in Jaguar?

Uh, being from North Carolina, I would think you would recognize the Southern dialect in Jag-WYRE, so the talking heads are just respecting the locals.
BTW my roommate, who was born and raised in Rochester, NY pronounces it the same way...
