Why has eBay made it so hard to contact a seller?

On my auctions, the ask a question link is nowhere...or very well hidden. And just now, I purchased a shirt. Got an automated reponse from the seller asking for a size. I went into my purchased items (My eBay), and eBay tried its best to diverge me from the ask a seller point.
Finally got there.
Man, sooooooo frustrating.

That's about the only question I ever ask.

They moved it towards the bottom of the page a few months ago. "ASK A QUESTION"
if a seller lists their stuff as US only shipping a "international buyer" which includes Canada cannot even contact the seller for any reason (ebay blocks it), so now I won't even be able to ask if they will ship to Canada (80%+) typically will, otherwise I still bid and use a US address. also there's code verification to get even a simples question through, just a pain in the ass.

Not sure if the above statement is true because a German friends always buys stuff that are "US only" AFTER asking if they would ship international (and since it's US only they obviously say no, but then he buys it and has them send it to me (in the US)).

Ebay is simply trying to keep the sales (and their cut) on the site. Fustrating, but understandable.

That's what they are changing, the ability to ask, if the seller has international bids blocked your friend will no longer be able to contact or bid, he'll have to have you do everything for him, luckily enough I've met a few stand up guys that help me out with this stuff.
