1828 Bust Half - Original tone or old cleaning?

Whaddaya think of this? I'm thinking it's been cleaned in the past, but retoned in an album.
It still has a fair amount of luster.

VF25... It doesn't look too bad from the pics... The old cleaning is not the problem here. As long as I don't see any evidence of hairlines.

no doubt in my mind of old cleaning.
Surfaces look very flat and clean-
also color looks unnatural

It looks to have retoned on its own after an old, light cleaning of one type or another.

Agreed. Spiffed up a bit at some point and then retoned with time.

For the grade, its a decent coin. But usually when there is no "caked-on" gunk in the tight spots, or gunk in general, on a circulated Bust, someone at some point removed it. As long as there are no hairlines, it may just have been soaked/dipped at some point. Decent coin for a coin album...
