If you were making an offer on silver today.....

what would you offer if you had the chance on this deal?

Of course, I won't offer until I see it, but the buyer has refused a lowball offer from a local dealer, and wants to know what I'd give.

300 Morgans,
100 pounds of 90%


Seller also has some silver certs and 5 "gold coins"

Left to him by his grandfather, that's all the info I have at this time....

this will keep me up at night until I see it.

    What do the silver dollars look like? Any mint state? Any culls? Are they all common dates? Check APMEX's web site. They list retail prices for common Morgans in grades from culls on up. A fair offer might be 90% of retail.

    Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

    Based on it being junk? 100 pounds of 90% is 1,312 troy ozs of silver by my calculation.

    The Morgans? I'd say 300 at $19/ea.

    So sight-unseen my offer would be $35K and not a penny more. image

    No, I'm just looking for wild speculation and having fun. image

    I hear the fella may be interested in about 12X face and $15 per Morgan....with three or four of my friends splitting the costs.

    If that's the case, I'm all in with the 3K I can play with right now....only a small portion for me.
