Bad SouthEast Asia silver bars

One of the big California dealers on our dealer-to-dealer network ran this today:

"Please note we are seeing bad silver bars coming in melt lots.
The specific bars we have tested are Vietnamese type bars,
commonly called "10 Lang" "Banana Bars" "Opium Trade Bars"
"Ngern Rong" "Tael Bars" etc. These bars over the years were
refined out to .991 or better fineness. Now they are bringing
as little as 10% or less silver.

This is just a heads up when you are buying these bars to be
VERY careful."

Don't think I have ever seen one of those myself, but I mention it for the benefit of people who collect such bars.

Someone on the open forum bought one on ebay based on the image shown. Different bar received. Clearly fake image
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.
