Hope there is someone real good in college right now.

1 and 15 should get us the first pick.

Don't know how we got into a position where Kitna is our QB.....what a joke. He never has been anything but a POS!!!

You Cowboy haters are going to have a very good year.

I almost feel sorry for the Cowboys...almost..image

Actually, I'm quite irked as Romo was my starting QB in the CU Fantasy Football League..

Hey, don't feel sorry. Injuries is part of the game. I really thought we had all the pieces to have a good year if we would just stop beating ourselves. Now we have all the pieces except the QB...................the biggest piece. Kitna will get them nowhere!!

Maybe we could buy Vick from the eagletts!

Grote......I can't believe you had a Cowboy on your FT?????

Kitna is a decent veteran back up QB. Romo is 1-5 as a starter. After 6 more games if the Cowboys are better than 2-10 then Kitna is an improvement.

LOL, I have no hangups when it comes to drafting the best player left on the board, and despite the "Boys' struggles this season, Romo is quite a productive player for fantasy football..

Please don't try to compare Kitna with Romo. First Romo is 1 and 4 not 5 plus look at his record since he started. Romo is or was in the top 5 QB's.

Trust me, the Cowboys will not win one game with Kitna at QB. He's not just a has been.....he's a never was!!!
  • I disagree. Kitna is very serviceable. You have a solid defense and a good running game. You can win some games with Kitna. Not playoff games, but games, yes.

Wow! Some fan you are. Have you even watched a game this year?

Best Cowboys QB is Stephen McGee. I think it's time the Romo era came to an end.

We will have to agree to disagree.

Kitna stunk at Seattle and stunk at Detroit and will really stink at 38 in Dallas.

Jerry will have to decide weather he wants to go 1 and 15 and get first pick

    OR

go out and get a QB that can play!! That's his only two choices!!!
  • DIMEMANDIMEMAN Posts: 22,403 ✭✭✭✭✭
lustigers.......you are clueless, so just stay out of this thread.

Weather you like the Cowboys or not all you have to do his look at Romo's stats and listen to people who actually know anything about football to know that Romo is a very very good QB. Ability wise he is up there with Roger S. and Troy A.
  • Give Kitna a little time. He may be the one to turn the season around.

But who does he get? Philly sure isn't going to help Dallas. Who else is available? Alex Smith? Kerry Collins? David Garrard maybe? Brady Quinn? Jake Delhomme? Charlie Batch? These guys are no better than Kitna. The only way you'd get a quarterback of decency for this season would be to give up something of value to a team that is buried but has a quarterback. Maybe the Broncos would trade Kyle Orton for a decent pick. The Raiders might give up Gradkowski. But do you really trade for a good quarterback when you will probably get a healthy Romo back before the end of the season? I would say just take your lumps with Kitna. He might play decently and you win a couple. At 1-5 your chances of getting into the playoffs would be small even with Troy Aikman in his prime. There's nothing out there that's better than what you have.

Now that's what I call Fantasy Football. If Romo, Roger, and Troy were on the same team at their peak Romo would be third team. Romo started tonights game so he gets credit as the starter.

I'd rate Romo as the 6th best QB in Dallas history behind 1. Staubach 2. Aikman 3. Meredith 4. (tie) Morton & White

They were ahead when Romo left......so he doesn't get the loss!!

H2O - every QB you named is better than Kitna! I would be surprised if Kitna does anything but 3 and out the rest of the year. Romo is out for 10 weeks. That's the year.

Kitna has thrown for over 27,000 yards including back-to-back 4,000 yard seasons (2006-07). Before he got hurt in the 5th game of 2008, the Lions were apparently improving. He isn't Romo. But he isn't that bad. He had NO practice this week. He was better than Romo this week. He'll be ok.

Let's see how Kitna plays after a full week as the starter in practice. I don't think anyone out there as a FA would be better than he, and he had some success in the past but at age 38 he may wind up getting knocked out of the box himself before long. Maybe Jason Garrett can suit up then, LOL..

Try last year in the playoffs against the eagletts for the 3rd time!!image

Kitna will NOT get the job done. Don't go by tonight........the Giants were playing soft with the big lead.

Wait till he lines up against a team at the start. He will be on the ground before he can try and think "what do I do now"!!

How much do you want to put up that Kitna will not win a game with Dallas while he is the starting QB?

He has been more than a decent QB while given the starting job with less talent around him. Granted he's older and needs reps, but he is far from abyssmal as dimeman is acting like.
  • I'm really surprised the cowboys are doing so poorly. Thought for sure they would make the playoffs. What a disaster for cowboys fans. Time for another new coach.
  • For all the Romo talk, what about a defense that gave up 41 points? I am a Cowboy fan and that was pathetic, too much wasted talent, lays on shoulder of undisciplined play/coaching. Sorry Jerry, not everyone is capable of winning with superior talent, still have to coach.

The defense has been just awful. Thy have committed too many penalties, they can't stop the run or the pass.

Another example of Jerry Jones' bumbling incompetence. He's got the highest payroll in the league yet doesn't sign a decent backup quarterback. Hey, this is the NFL and injuries happen. It's like putting four of the most expensive Michelin tires on your car and then going for a long-distance drive without a spare tire.

But as a Giants fan - I continue to say, "you go, Jerry!" image

For what it's worth, I was rooting for the Boys to beat the Giants last night.

Romo going down could actually turn into a positive rally point for your team. Now that everyone has written you guys off, the team won't be expected to win each week. The focus is going to shift to your coaches keeping their jobs, and players tend to step it up a notch when their leader goes down, and their coaches come under fire.

Kitna, like others have said, is a capable seasoned vet ... and probably better than anyone else you could pick up off the street right now. Dez Bryant looks like he could add some excitement to the passing game. I don't see you guys falling completely apart, and wouldn't be surprised to see you start winning some games.

I'll be rooting for you guys again in a few weeks when you replay the Giants. Go get um!

There is no positive with Romo going down. The defense is the problem and if anything without a running game Romo was doing very well. The rallying point is the defense coming together and stopping the run and the pass.

How does Kitna not rate as a decent backup quarterback? There are 32 teams. OK, Kerry Collins and Kevin Kolb are better backups. Maybe Gradkowski, since he is the starter sometimes. But who else? Trent Edwards? David Carr? The guy that totes the clipboard in Indy and New Orleans? Tavaris Jackson? Brodie Croyle? Seneca Wallace? There are 32 starting jobs. If these guys were really good they would have one of those jobs. So Kitna isn't Romo. That doesn't mean he is horrible. He will do ok. They will win games with him.

Well I can only say that it is a good thing the Cowboys do not paly the Broncos this year [at least I do not think that they play each other]. If these two teams played, what a stink bomb it would be. The Broncos week 7 58-14 (or 20?) beat down/smack down/punkfest by the Raiders made me want to gag.

Oh well, the Broncos play the 49rs in London this week. Maybe another beat down by a Bay Area team is on the horizon for the Orange Crushimage
