Wouldn't it be better to say "consider the advice"? Not all the advice is acceptable some is not even rational. >>

It would be better if you'd edit your post to say "100". image

All suppositions are just that. In your scenario, this alleged person would not be a customer, but a thief. How could he be a customer if he were lying and stealing ? >>

No, in my scenario, the alleged person is not a liar or a thief- he believes the coin was misdescribed and he has stolen nothing. He's done no more than the OP has done- insisted that a new condition be added to the transaction.

So- as he's the customer, is he right?

Who? The OP or the ebay buyer?

I read these forums in order to learn something. Sometimes you can't learn
something unless you're willing to un-learn something you thought was true,
    but isn't.

I certainly learned a lot from this thread.

I wish everyone had the same attitude. How someone can blow off such
excellent advice is beyond my comprehension.

This is a tough one. I guess I would treat the customer with care until he's happy, and would not describe a coin for what it is not, I would describe it for what it is. My policy is such that if one is not happy with the purchase I would appreciate they return it ASAP for a full refund ASAP. And until he's happy, he's right...even if it causes me a loss. Of course, I've lost thousands of dollars in the contracting business with this attitude, it's still easy to adopt.
