I'm going to step out on a limb and say that I truely believe he is in fact signing his bat. Goodness forbid he's doing anything else to his bat with that pen.

<< <i>It doesn't necessarily mean the bat FS was being signed by Wetteland the moment the photo was taken - for most in-person autographers who sell their stuff, they take one generic photo of the person signing an item, as a 'proof shot' so they think they are giving the buyer peace of mind as far as authenticity is concerned. >>
That sounds shady to me. That says to me that Yes, John Wetteland does sign items and I have a picture of him signing something it's just that your item may or may not have been signed by him but rest assured that he does sign autographs once in a while.

You are correct, it doesnt mean or prove anything. You do understand the word proof correct?

<< <i>"Proof" photos are no different than claiming you have a large member because you have big feet and hands. BTW, I have large feet and hands. >>
I do find it kinda funny when the photos don't match...like above.
It is saying to me, buy this autograph from an idiot liar. I demand a min. of halfwit to my liars.

Dear 72skywalker,
Its a pic of him signing a baseball. Hes kind of a weird guy and when you take pictures of him, he flips out. I would rather try to get more autographs and only have 1 picture of him signing then take pics of everything being signed and run the risk of him stop signing and flip out.

Why would you think I wouldn't understand what 'proof' means?

<< <i>A 'proof shot' is in-person autographer lingo for a picture of an player while signing - it doesn't mean the image is an absolute, 100 percent photo match with the item being sold.

You can come up with any lingo you want, proof has a meaning, and that is not it. That photo proves he signed something with a ball point pen in a car...nothing else. It does not prove he signed that bat period.

It doesn't even prove that. For all anyone knows, he could be using it to try and free his stuck zipper.
