  • Interesting, never heard of them, but I checked my Krause 36th edition book and they are listed as KM#T5a in 2 different dates:
    1901 B (Proof, Restrike)
    1902 B (Proof, Restrike)

    Both are valued at $7,500
  • Well, checked my Krause 1801-1900 5th edition and found a few more:
    1895B
    1895
    1896B
    1897B
    1897
    1898B
    1899B
    1900B

They are all proof, restrike and listed at $7,500 each

I saw a picture of one once. I think it was from one of those Heritage magazines. Not a catalog, but a magazine/brochure that shows some of the stuff Heritage has sold. If anybody has those saved, look there.

Edit: I looked at some of the Heritage magazines online and couldn't find anything. The publication I saw was more like a brochure.

Last Edit: Maybe it was Spinks. Here's a link to a photo. Gold Trade Dollar. About half way down.

Yea, that 7500 figure is very very conservative...At least three to four times that I would guess.

    Good guess. The article says:

    << <i>The Trade Dollar is estimated at HK$160,000-200,000 (up to US$25,800). >>
