  • i was gonna be a funny guy and make an offer of one dolla.

but with $10 shipping, i would be paying $11 for a card worth two dolla.

Muggyman, I honestly considered making an offer of .01, but it's not worth $10.01.

lol, I'm guessing he priced it that high just so people would do exactly what you were gonna do muggyman. Even at 1 penny, he's making money off that ridiculous shipping.
  • i just tried to put in negative 9 dolla.

  • The other Mays he has for sale would be over priced even with a one cent best offer with the shipping.

The description says it's not a stock photo, too bad, I would rather roll the dice with a stock photo than take that card as it is.

  • << <i>The card you see pictured is the card you are bidding on, not a stock photo. >>

That's actually not a plus in this particular case. I'd rather roll the dice and take my chances with a different Mays IA of unknown quality than have that one.

Also note that he has three feedbacks as a seller.... and he has one of each kind! You don't see that every day.

Edited to add: Vlad, get out of my head!!!

...there, I posted that just so you can say you posted it before me.

    His feedback speaks volumes.
  • I wish that greedy 707 would move his overpriced cards and stop cluttering ebay.
  • In my head I asked the seller a question. This is what he could have said...

First off, void is your opinion
    And the grades you claim
    West side when we ride
    You better think the same
You claim to be a grader
    But, this card is tight
    "Like New, No wear"
    Card stays minty for life

Get out the way yo, get out the way yo
    Like New is the card
    So the price will reflect
    It's a running BIN
    With BO in effect

If $60 in ebay bucks dont lure you in
Say hello to my little friend
The cards I got are the illest around
    All original photos
    Cuz I dont mess around

If outta your range this card is in
    Then I suggest 1988 Donruss
To stop printing it would be a sin

    I got 10 deals that I done
    I'll get a sucker
    And then I won
Cuz I dont do this with knowledge or passion
    Just making money money
    Cuz this markets crashin'

When you have cards that are that valuable, there will always be the jealous. That's why he bought this is August.

I outdid you. Here is what I sent him.

    Hi,

I am interested in this card. Would you take $700. Of course, I would consider paying the $10 shipping if you would take $700. Thanks for your consideration.

Remember, now. I offered him $700. Here is what his reply was - "No sorry, that's too much under face value."

    Priceless!

    Shane

  • I can't bring myself to believe you offered him $700 for that card and he said no. I just can't do it.

Since when do cards have a "face value"? Is there some price printed on that '72 Mays that I'm not seeing? image

Yes, I would have thought that an error card like that would go for much more. image

Not sure if you really don't believe it, or that was just an expression. Guys, I promise - he really did turn down $700.

    FrankHardy,
Just an expression. I believe you. I finally found a 1972 Willie Mays IA for my set that's a little bit better grade and a LOT less $$'s. I've never seen one centered this well. I hope it looks this good in person.
