Seller's Remorse!

I know we all have experienced buyers remorse at times but this week I had a bunch of cards on sale on ebay....

2 cards in particular fetched astounding prices....they were a PSA 10 of Phil Goyette 1962 Parkhurst Hockey....one of one and highest rated...I bought this card raw for 14.99 and had it
graded for approx 6 dollars U.S.....it sold this week for $ 1025.03....

The other card was a 1966 Topps Ed Westfall PSA 9 Highest Grade 1 of 2.....I paid $ 26.55 plus 6 bucks for having it graded....it sold for $ 1294.98...........unbelievable....

I say Seller's remorse because with all due respect these cards are NOT remotely worth that kind of money.....I realize people who want the highest graded cards for their sets but
honestly, this was crazy......I honestly thought the Westfall would go for about 200.00 US and the Goyette would be around 400.00....

Of course, I am not so remorseful that I am going to give them a discount...just sayin'.......ouch.....great investment for me though...I guess some people have lots of discretionary income!

The card market is hard to predict right now. I have given away surefire cards for peanuts and seen cards I thought were worthless go for big money....

Not sure how it's seller's remorse if the cards went for far more than you think they're worth...but congrats on the nice profit.

I can under stand feeling a little bad that you think the buyer(s) over paid. But consider this, they would certainly not have fealt any concern should these cards have gone for far less then you thought they were worth.

Be glad they sold for what they did.

  • Oh my witty fellow card collectors....I am being somewhat facetious of course....but not to the point of returning money or shelling
it out to you guys here....ha ha ha .....

But yeah, they seriously seriously overpaid.....these are not good investments.....but hey, mayby they will put them up for sale
one day and someone will overpay big time....

It really is odd this card business we are in.....I have had cards that I thought would fetch mega dollars do poorly and cards
that I thought would get me some okay cash go through the roof....

This is about the 4rth time this has happened to me....I bought a couple of 61 topp Hockey cards raw for about 50 bucks and got
them graded and sold them for over 1200 dollars......its absurd to me but I guess when you get people who want the highest
graded cards for their registry sets, money is not an object.....

Bottom line though...do not bother sending me your paypal addresses.....you shall not be getting any of my new found wealth!

Maybe we should start a new forum for guys who want to crow about their windfall sales, then reflect on how crazy and unpredictable the hobby is. image Seriously, congrats on two over-the-top results!
