Sports Cards Contests - Updated 10/18

Updated 10/18/10
Since my collecting budget is rather tight at the moment I've gotten into the habit of hunting down any and every contest / promotion I can in which free sports cards are being given away as the prizes. There are more opportunities for free cardboard then you might think. I've personally won some good stuff over the last few months and since I'm a newcomer to this forum I thought I'd share some of the current cool contests I've recently come across that are still available to enter (most of these are courtesy of the Hobby Box Report).

The first two contests are far and away the best:
- The Cardboard Connection - The prize for their latest contest is a free hobby box of 2010 Topps Chrome Football cards. Also note that they announced over the weekend that they will be giving away at least a hobby box per week going forward!
- Topps Blog - 2010 Chrome Baseball Bounty Card Contest #2. This weeks prize is a 1964 Topps Mickey Mantle.
- Trade Cards Now – TCN’s Ongoing Raffles. About 1-2 raffle drawings are held each week. The winner of each raffle receives a GU, Silk, Bat, Floor, Auto, or similar hit.
- Traders Retreat - Weekly football contests. This ongoing contest will span the entire NFL regular season. Select the winning teams each week to win various free cards.
- The Bench - Win a couple dozen random football autographs and g/u cards.

I agree completely about the icon! I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to upload one of my own. So we will really be able to upload them tomorrow?
<< <i>Thanks for the info. I think tomorrow for icon upload day you need to change yours to reflect your username!

kinda like wishing for Jennifer Love Hewitt and getting Pam Anderson.
<< <i>i dunno, i kinda dig the juxtaposing of the OP's avatar, which represents the top icon of our hobby, while the handle implies what many believed would be the icon of our hobby.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Here's an icon suggestion....

This is officially my favorite forum. You guys have a great sense of humor unlike most of the other forums I've come across. Just wish I didn't miss the icon upload day
