I was surprised by the Ned Jarrett & Bud Moore. I don’t doubt their Hall worthiness just didn’t think it would be in the 2nd class. I feel bad for DW but I am sure he will be in the 3rd class.

David Pearson lives fairly close to me. I usually see him at car shows a couple times a year. He is a super nice guy that loves talking about racing and classic cars.

  • I think that the Rapid Roman should have gotten in, the fact that the modifieds are not the top class will slow him (and Jerry Cook) down, both are both very much deserving.

Ned Jarrett has kept his hands in Nascar since retiring as a driver. For years he ran the Hickory Speedway and very successfully I might add. Also as an announcer for the sport on national TV.

Bud Moore, car owner. Just about anybody that is anybody in Nascar drove the Number 15 Ford on their way up in the sport. Buddy Baker, Dale Earnhardt, Ricky Rudd, Darrell Waltrip,Parnelli Jones, Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, Fireball Roberts, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Bobby Isaac, Morgan Shepherd, Geoff Bodine, Brett Bodine, just off the top of my head (and a quick Google). Back in 1966 Darrel Derringer driving the # 16 Mercury Cyclone for Moore won the Southern 500 to the shock of many. Moore out of Spartanburg South Carolina campaigned Fords and Mercurys for many years on the Nascar circuit and had a good career. He certainly deserves the nomination.

Lee Petty, took Plymouth and Chrysler from a little old lady car to muscle car status.

Bobby Allison and David Pearson need no explaining.

I really wish they would have put DW, Allison and Yarborough in the same class. There are so many deserving right now that it's tough to argue with the picks.
