For those of you who know Andy Skrabalak of Angel Dees, you might enjoy this "You Tube" video that Don Willis of PCGS did with Andy discussing Andy's involvement with the sale of the unique 1943D BRONZE Lincoln cent for $1,700,000. Click here
Since Andy mentioned in the video that he just recently celebrated his 50th Birthday, you might just want to respond here to congratulate him. I know he looks at our boards and appreciates all his collector and dealer friends.
A Very Happy 50th Birthday, Andy.

Very cool, this was really big news at the Long Beach show and I suspect is a deal that will be talked about for many years. Congrats Andy! Will be a very cool display at the FUN show and I hope PCGS does another video at that time so we all can see it.

I agree, but I suspect the new owner probably owns one if he so desires.Shag

Sounds like it was a winning deal for all of the parties involved, congrats!
Congratulations on your video and thanks for sharing with us some details of this spectacular deal. When I first started collecting coins in Albuquerque, NM in the late fifties, I was always looking for the elusive Copper/Bronze 1943 cent when I went through rolls of pennies. At the time I don't even think it was verified that any existed. It is a credit to you and Laura to work as long as you did to make this happen. Congrats to the charity that benefited and the new owner!

Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
<< <i>The new owner probably made the $2 mil in stock increases on the week before he bought it. >>
