  • I guess this is where the old saying, "It's not news, it's CNN" comes from. What a joke....of all the things to report on. Loved the part about "Some cards may be worth $1".

Yeah, I dont know whats funnier, the fact that CNN has the time to cover this or the fact that "some" of the cards may be worth a dollar

Favorite snippets from the article include:

"Breul won't hazard a guess on their value, but he indicated some might be worth about $1"

"That Fred Lynn card is pretty cool," Breul said, referring to the outfielder who starred for the Sox in the '70s.

    Washington Post

    NBC

    Fox >>

DAMN! Well I guess I have to eat my words...how in the helldid $20 worth of cards get to be such a big story?!?!? Maybe I'll go plant an old Roger Maris card in a field and get my 15 minutes...

funniest, most clueless thing I've read in a long time.

    Toby Harrah???

  • Yes, so ridiculous when i saw THOSE cards were without an owner. If it was a box of 1952's, I think they would find an owner pretty quickly.

My theory... cops are doing it as part of an investigation or to find someone. Just like how they send people with outstanding warrants a free prize or Thanksgiving dinner giveaway and when they show up... caught and arrested! Just a hunch.

But hey guys, "that Fred Lynn card is pretty cool!"

Ah, sometimes we forget most of the world doesn't know squat about cards.

CNN got that from a local affiliate in Washington. If it's off the wall these days--even remotely out of the ordinary--the network websites are running with it to keep their content fresh, I guess?

Isn't there some sort of law against leaving things out that could start a nice fire?

    Real story:
Some guy went by Goodwill and wasn't able to dump them fast enough so Goodwill employee told him to take them away. The guy them dumped them in a field near Goodwill. I guarantee it!
