NPR Proves What I've been Saying for Years: BaseBall is Boooriing !!!

Afternoon,

NPR just did a timed Scientific experiment to prove how much (Little) action there actually is in a Baseball game. The sum total of all action, includes walking to mound, Pitcher warmup, Hitter warmup, ect. ect. is Wait, Wait:

Drum Roll Please: 14 Minutes !!!!!!!!!!!!! Average Game!

Booooorriing................As I have said for years!! Boring, Boring, Boring. Don't get me wrong I love to see the Rockies play at Coors Field, but it certainly isn't for the action!! It's for the afternoon under the sun, drinking Beer, taking the Boys ect.!!!!

You want boring, watch Hockey on TV (up close, very different) Or watch a youth soccer game, or any soccer game for that matter.

The fact that you think soccer doesn't possess those qualities you describe in your first sentence is all I need to know. But thanks for playing!

I probably feel the same way about soccer, only because I really don't know the game.

I can see Boo's point that it does have the same qualities that was described but only after I thought about it.

Many of us in this country have never watched a full soccer game and thus don't see it like he and others might.

    To me...

Soccer and hockey (NHL/College) are blasts to watch (and play). The fans are great (with exception to southern teams...but they are catching on to the rules).

Basketball is cheap and tacky, especially fouling a team 10 times in the last minute - but I will say that the late '80s/early-mid '90s basketball was pretty classy. I don't know very many NBA fans - college basketball is fun to watch.

Football has been growing on me a lot, but every superbowl (with exception to Patriots/Giants) I fall asleep around the half-time show...I don't care too much for college football and think the players are exploited (in basketball too but not as much as college football).

Baseball I will only watch a game seven at around the 8th inning.

A ha! A Spurs fan- there's one on every board.

Actually, if I had to pick an EPL team that I actively root for it would be Blackpool, followed probably by Everton. Of the 'Big 4', though, I'd go with either The Gunners or Liverpool (though I'm a huge fan of Drogba).

Basically, my approach to the EPL is 'ABMU'-- Anybody But Man U!

Hi Dan, no not really. If anything I'd see some highlights on the evening news.

Not really a soccer fan. (I tried about 4x to spell 'afficianondo' all were wrong.

I don't even watch much football or basketball. I'll watch pro lacrosse a little if it's on.

I'm big into baseball and only baseball.

At least the NFL has a time clock. They get 40 seconds timed from the end of the previous down, or 25 seconds after the ball is declared ready for play after certain administrative stoppages and game delays.
