ebay double up or double down.....

greets......usually I can follow the bait and switch process's offered by e bay, but I thought I'd run this through here to those who might be able to help......

On the 27th of Sept I rec'd this in my ebay message's:

FREE to list Auction-style, any start price, September 28-January 7
Start at any price
Pay only if your item sells
FREE Insertion Fees for Auction-style listings through January 7
List even big ticket items--start the bidding where you want

(fine print)
How is this special promotion different from eBay standard fees for Auction-style listings?
Instead of receiving free Insertion Fees for your first 100 Auction-style listings which have a start price of 99¢ or less with no reserve price plus 100 Auction-style listings regardless of start price (for a total of 200 free Insertion Fees), qualified sellers will pay no Insertion Fees for the first 100 Auction-style listings which have no reserve price, regardless of start price. There is a limit of 100 listings eligible per calendar month, for this promotional rate during the Promotion Period.

When is it?
This promotion starts on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on September 28, 2010) and will end on Friday January 7, 2011, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds) (the "Promotion Period"). For listings on www.ebay.ca, the promotion will begin at 12:00 AM plus one second on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, ET and will end on Friday, January 7, 2011, at 11:59 PM plus 59 seconds ET.

2ND OPTION
Yesterday i rec'd this one:
ONLY 10¢ to list Oct 5-7. Sell and save!

(fine print)
When is it?
This Promotion starts on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on Tuesday, October 5, 2010) and will end on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds) (the "Promotion Period"). For listings on www.ebay.ca, the Promotion will begin at 12:00 AM plus one second, ET, on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, and end on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 11:59 PM plus 59 seconds, ET.

What are the fees?
During the Promotional Period, insertion fees for listings in Auction-style format will be 10¢ on the U.S. site www.ebay.com, eBay Motors www.eBayMotors.com (Parts & Accessories only), and eBay Canada www.ebay.ca, as reflected in the fee table below. Listings created prior to October 5, 2010 and scheduled to start during the Promotion Period will be eligible to receive the Promotional Rate.

So using backwards logic from e bay, does the second 2nd option basically repeat the first option but only for Oct 5ht thru Oct 7th??

Lastly, As I understand the 1st option, I will receive 200 free insertions fee's auction listing per month and only pay if the items sell?

Am i missing anything else and whats the hitch?

thank you to the friendlies......

p.s. no baiting or trolling please

Got the same messages. Don't know what the clowns in San Jose are up to. The buyer protection splash on the homepage makes me think something seller unfriendly is about to be unleashed on us.

Received the same message today, even though at the bottom of my page it states I have 99 FREE insertions left this month!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

    greets.....

Is there a way I can keep track of how many listings I have left that would be eligible for this special promotion?
Yes. You can view this information directly in My eBay and in Selling Manager, and Selling Manager Pro, under "Listing Offers." A separate counter will be displayed specifically for this Promotion. You will see the counters only if you have listed an eligible item during the Promotion Period.

HAS any1 been able to found this?

    thanks goye
