Pack Pulled vs Sheet Cut 80's Hockey OPC

Just want to get some thoughts on which you'll prefer for 80's Hockey OPC cards...A pack pulled or sheet cut card...?

I personally prefer a pack pulled card, I happen to like the OPC rough cut that most of them have and have more of a nostalgic feel to them..and they are extremely difficult to find in Gem Mint condition..Most sheet cut cards grade BGS 9.5, but they are fabricated 9.5's when you think about about it..I wish I knew how many pack pulled opc cards have actually graded 9.5 for most of the popular 80's Rookies...Based on how many I've seen and how many PSA 10's exist, not many I would presume..

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

Sheet cut cards are the equivalent to trimmed cards by today's standards.

PSA doesn't grade sheet cut cards.

  • 90-95% of these cards are trimmed, they are not sheet cut. You are either an idiot or putting your head in the sand if you think otherwise.

    I was actually just joking.

Like has already been mentioned, PSA doesn't knowingly grade sheet cut cards.

If you actualy open an OPC pack of hockey cards from the 70's and 80's you will find that one or two cards in a pack actually come pretty clean without a rough cut.

Did you cut that Richard yourself - because it does not look sheet cut to me.

No I did not cut the Richard myself. I bought it from a major internet PSA card dealer.
If you had the card in hand you'd see the difference in the edges. Smooth as glass.

Pack cut. Beckett will grade a sheet cut card as long as it

    is the correct size.
