WTB: 1991 Topps Desert Shield Wax Box or Packs

I know these are extremely hard to find, but I am hoping that by posting it for so many of my fellow board members, some one will be able to help me out. The desert was a missed opportunity, but we didn't really have time for that kind of stuff.

Good luck finding un-tampered with packs. If youre looking to build a set, doing it with singles would be the best way. In fact, I dont think you can tell by the packs which is DS and which is regular topps.

Yeah, I am aware there is no difference in the look of the packs. I currently own two raw sets and am working on a set in PSA 9 or 10. I am just looking for wax boxes or packs to go with the set. Thanks for the reply.

  • I wish I would of grabbed a pack or two a few years back when I seen a few around for a short while for $40 ea.

    Good Luck!

I wonder what a wax box looks like. Normal? Maybe with Not for Resale printing on it...maybe just a blank box? Anyone ever see a confirmed box?
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
  • The last box I saw for sale was through the Topps Vault and sold at $1800. That's a steal compared to today's modern stuff.

From what I remember, the box looks exactly like the regular wax box.

I sent a couple of emails for scan of cards and got a quick reply. Not sure if this is any help or not for you
  • If anyone that is reading this is new to these and thinking of starting collecting them, there are counterfeits. IIRC the shield is darker. A Counterfeit Desert Shield Google search should show the site that has the info.

    IAHAWKS,

Thanks for the link. I will contact him today. I don't need the set, but maybe he will know someone who owns the wax.
