Curious About Full Page Sarosi Notice in 9/27 Coin World.

I saw the full page notice taken out by the Sarosi's in the 9/27 Coin World earlier this week. The notice says that they are resigning their Life Memberships in the ANA and ending the work they do with PAN. It seems to be about the PAN board lining up with the ANA for a 2011 show.
I usually don't follow things like this up, but a full page public notice, with these kinds of declarations, has me curious.
What's the story? What happened?

Is PAN The Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists ?

Is there a conflict of interest between the two clubs being associated together during a show? I see PAN is a lifetime member of the ANA.

edited to add: I see their 2011 show is the ANA Fall National Money Show in Pittsburgh, PA. It appears to make good business sense to take advantage of another show (in this case ANA) that occurs during the same month as their normally scheduled show in October. Am I missing something?

Very odd.. it sounds like someone got their feelings hurt.

It looks like the ANA/PAN show would be very beneficial for PAN... again, am I missing something?

I remember setting up at this show in the late 70s when it was held in a room at the Greentree Mariotte... Local politics in western Pa is fustrating to say the least but I imagine Pat Vetter ( forum member) would be able to shed some light if you're interested. If I remember correctly he's active in Pan and local to the area.

The October show for the 22 - 24 is still on!

So in the May show in 2011.

The ANA and PAN will hold thier shows together in OCT 2011 with the ANA running the show.

This comming show is sold out and I expect a great show.

Appears there may be hard feelings over cancelling the show in Monroeville.

I will be going on the 23rd to Monroeville for the PAN show.

BUT if the show is canceled I will have to go shoping at the mall with the wife
